TikTok Shop IP infringement appeal
Trademark or copyright claims via TikTok IP Protection Center. The system auto-takes-down on a third-party complaint without verification.
What this violation means
A brand owner (or someone claiming to be) filed a complaint about your listing's use of their trademark or copyrighted material.
Policy reference: Intellectual Property Policy, Section 2.4
Evidence checklist
- Brand authorization letter referencing TikTok Shop and your shop name
- Supplier invoice less than 90 days old
- USPTO/TMView trademark search showing you are not violating
- Original design files with timestamps if it is your own creation
Tone tips that win
- Reference TikTok Shop's Intellectual Property Policy Section 2.4 (Authorized Distributors)
- Offer to file a DMCA counter-notice if the complainant overreached
- Provide the brand counter-contact if you have one — signals legitimacy
If the first appeal fails
If rejected, file a DMCA counter-notice with TikTok and CC the brand's legal counsel. The counter-notice triggers the original complainant to either sue (rare) or withdraw within 14 days, after which TikTok must reinstate.
